NGC 4565 is a striking Galaxy about 20 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices. It is also known as the Needle Galaxy for its narrow profile. This is an unfinished image of 90 minutes of RGB data. Humidity was high when this was taken the night of March 9, 2010. The faint galaxy near the top is NGC 4562. As weather permits I'll be adding more data to this image so it can be seen in more detail. This was imaged through the Hyperion astrograph using an SBIG STL11000 camera. The imaging session was automated with CCD Autopilot.
