The Flaming Star Nebula in Auriga. This is a combination emission and reflection nebula IC 405 is an emission/reflection nebula in the constellation Auriga, surrounding the bluish star AE Aurigae. It shines at magnitude +6.0.. This image was taken in November of 2006. It was exposed for 120 minutes through a hydrogen-alpha filter and 90 minutes through RGB filters. The nebula is 1500 light years distant.
