There are at least 50 galaxies in this image, probably more. The bright galaxy at the center top is NGC4216, about 40 million light years away, near the center of the Virgo closer of galaxies. The galaxy is about 100,000 light years across. The galaxy just below is NGC4206. Click on the image for a larger view and see if you can see all the galaxies spread throughout the image. Taken April 2-3, a total of 6 hours of exposure with the Hyperion 12.5" astrograph, with CCDAutopilot controlling the session.
