First complete (non-test) image from the new observatory. This is 12 hours of NGC281, sometimes called the PacMan nebula. This is an L+haRGB image with h-alpha blended into the luminance channel. The young, blue central stars are being formed from the surrounding gas, which emits Ha light after being excited by stellar radiation. The image was collected on the nights of November 13-21, 2012. Click on the image for a larger version.
